Amsterdam Falafelshop on 14th Street Adding Beer to its Menu

International Brews will be Served Alongside Falafel and Fries to Customers

WASHINGTON, D.C. – How about a nice beer to wash down that falafel?

Amsterdam Falafelshop’s 14th Street shop at 1830 14th Street NW is now offering its falafel-faithful a cold can of Dutch beer to accompany its mouthwatering culinary creations. The Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington award winner for “Favorite Fast Bites” is known as a lunchtime and late-night destination favorite for the Washington D.C. residents, workforce and visitors.

“Serving beer adds a touch more of that authentic Amsterdam experience to the fun, relaxed environment of the restaurant,” said Dane Cherry, co-owner of Amsterdam Falafelshop on 14th Street. “Our customers know that when they walk in here, it’s always about good vibes and great food. Now, a traditional beer is a part of the mix, too.”

The shop’s premium beers come from, of course, Amsterdam. Customers will be able to purchase 12-ounce cans of Heineken, Heineken Premium Light, Amstel Light and the summer specialty Amstel Radler, a refreshing beer and lemon juice-style shandy.

Oranjeboom, a Dutch lager brew, will be available in 16-ounce cans.

The 14th Street locale has been innovative with menu additions since it opened. Building off the flagship location and original menu in the Adams Morgan neighborhood, the shop features falafel bowls and curry ketchup.

Amsterdam Falafelshop has garnered a global fan base and consistently tops best-food lists, receives widespread food-critic acclaim, and has won over the hearts of discerning customers who have made it a highly rated restaurant on Yelp. In addition to serving fresh-made falafel sandwiches and Dutch-style fries [“frieten”], shops offer nearly two-dozen toppings for patrons to customize their falafel.

About Amsterdam Falafelshop

Since opening in 2004 in the heart of Washington, D.C.’s Adams Morgan neighborhood, Amsterdam Falafelshop has become a magnetic destination. The top-it-yourself falafel sandwich and Dutch-style fries shop with a vibe and culture tailored to meeting the taste and atmospheric demands of urbanites nationwide creates an unforgettable, unique experience in every community it enters. Shops retain a feeling of neighborhood independence amid a period of crucial franchise growth. With three locations operating today and multiple units in development, plans call for an exponential increase in franchised sister-shops, adding dozens of Amsterdam Falafelshop franchise locations across urban centers nationwide.
