Potbelly Sandwich Shop Opens Third Location in Louisville

The beloved shop brings its signature sandwiches, shakes and live music to Jeffersontown

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Potbelly Sandwich Shop announced today that Louisville’s third shop opened to the public on December 15 at 9018 Taylorsville Road in Jeffersontown. The widely acclaimed neighborhood hangout features toasty warm sandwiches, made to order salads, hand-dipped milkshakes and live, local music, which make it “The Best Place for Lunch.”

Potbelly has earned a reputation in communities across the United States for having delicious food, fun décor and fresh tunes. All three Potbelly locations in Louisville are owned and operated by local residents John Vinci and Marcus Eddy, including the downtown shop at 302 S. Fourth St. and an East End location in the Paddock Shops (formerly the Summit Shopping Center).

“We are very pleased to open our third Potbelly Sandwich Shop in Louisville,” said Vinci. “We are now able to serve our friends, neighbors and members of the community in the downtown, East End and J-Town areas. Louisville residents do not have to travel very far to find Potbelly’s sandwiches and shakes,” added Vinci.

Vinci and Eddy, who have extensive business backgrounds, first bonded over Potbelly sandwiches when they worked as floor traders at the Chicago Board Options Exchange. Vinci and Eddy oversee the Potbelly Sandwich Shops in Louisville and Lance Mendelsohn serves as general manager at the Jeffersontown location.

“John, Marcus and their team are the perfect addition to the Potbelly family. We couldn’t be happier to share our mouthwatering shakes and sandwiches with our fans in Louisville,” said Rick Fossali, senior director of domestic franchising for Potbelly Sandwich Shop. “John and Marcus have the deep-rooted community values Potbelly looks for when choosing franchise partners.”

Potbelly Sandwich Shop first opened in Chicago in 1977, and now includes more than 300 shops across the United States. There are also 30-plus franchise shops in the United States and abroad.

Jeffersontown’s Potbelly Sandwich Shop will open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday though Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
