Potbelly Sandwich Shop Opens Second Franchise Location in Omaha

The beloved shop brings its toasty warm sandwiches, signature shakes and live music to the heart of Omaha

OMAHA, Nebraska – Potbelly Sandwich Shop announced today that its second shop in Omaha opened to the public December 18. The 3,000-square-foot shop is located along one of Omaha’s busiest streets at 7425 Dodge St. The widely acclaimed neighborhood hangout, known for its signature toasted sandwiches and hand-dipped milkshakes, features local music and an unmistakable Omaha vibe.

Potbelly shops have earned a reputation in communities across the United States for delicious food, fun décor and fresh tunes. Owners of the existing Potbelly in Omaha, brothers Craig and Kendall Frantz, have opened the second location. The Frantz brothers are Nebraska natives with close community connections and an extensive background in business management and operations.

“Our first location was such a success that Omaha has an even greater craving for Potbelly, and we are here to satisfy that hunger,” said Craig. “We’re as committed as ever to making this ‘The Best Place for Lunch.’”

Similar to the first Omaha location on 117th Ave., near the intersection of 120th and Blondo, the Frantz brothers manage the sandwich shop’s day-to-day operations, handle booking local musicians and focus on giving back to the community through fundraising efforts.

“This new location is helping put Potbelly at the front of everyone’s mind, located on one of the busiest streets in the city,” Kendall added. “We’re bringing the same good vibes and delicious sandwiches the people of Omaha have come to enjoy at the first location. We’re not stopping here, either. We plan to open several shops throughout Omaha and Lincoln over the coming years, so stay tuned.”

Omaha’s second Potbelly Sandwich Shop features vintage Omaha décor and regular performances from local musicians. The hours of operation are Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Potbelly Sandwich Shop first opened in Chicago in 1977, and now includes more than 300 shops across the United States. There are also 20-plus franchise shops in the United States and abroad, and the company is projecting more franchised shops to open in 2016.
