Kitchen Tune-Up Advances Strategic Franchise Growth

Kitchen Tune-Up Advances Strategic Franchise Growth

Award-Winning Founder and President Dave Haglund Leads Company into Prolific Expansion Phase

ABERDEEN, S.D. – The country’s leading kitchen and bath remodeling franchise, Kitchen Tune-Up, widely known for its signature one day wood restoration Tune-Up, announced today an extensive growth initiative to increase its U.S. presence by 50 units annually.

“From our humble beginnings in 1988, our family business has grown to more than 170 franchise locations and we have continued to grow – expanding by a robust 30 percent last year,” said Dave Haglund, president and founder of Kitchen Tune-Up who founded the business with his wife, Cindy. “But that’s just the beginning for us. We have developed a strong franchise growth strategy and we are poised for significant growth through the end of the 2015 and into 2016.”

Kitchen Tune-Up is ranked as the top franchise in the Kitchen & Bath Remodeling category in Entrepreneur’s 2015 Franchise 500® list. Haglund’s proven leadership experience and entrepreneurial achievements have created an undeniable energy around the concept. The vibe can be felt at all levels of the franchise organization, and now it has given way to the company’s most dynamic U.S. growth plan to date.

“Cindy and I have an enormous amount of pride in our franchise family. We have received numerous accolades and awards for our brand, but none are quite as special as the heartfelt acknowledgments we receive from our franchise owners and the glowing reviews from our satisfied customers,” said Haglund.

As announced today, the multi-year plan lays down the foundation for 80 to 100 locations to be open or in development in the next 24 months, building on the momentum the company has established. The large-scale growth strategy projects new units dotting the map in attractive territories within its core Midwestern markets, and into other southwest, Midwest and southern regions. Among the priority regions, Atlanta, Dallas and Wisconsin are key expansion territories.

The concept appeals to entrepreneurs transitioning into business ownership from corporate backgrounds. Kitchen Tune-Up specializes in affordable kitchen updates for residential and commercial enterprises. It is known for its signature one day wood restoration Tune-Up, cabinet refacing, cabinet redooring, new cabinets, granite sealing and storage solutions. The standout remodeling concept offers personalized service and incredible results that are structured around eight customer service Trustpoints to ensure a hassle-free experience from start to finish.

Dave Haglund founded the brand in 1988 following a career in cabinet distributorship and working as a salesperson and manager at Montgomery Wards. All five of his children have played a role in the family business. The company began franchising in 1988 with retail and home-based franchises. Franchisees offer wood restoration and repair for both residential and commercial customers, as well as replacement hardware door & drawer replacement, granite sealing, and custom cabinets. In addition, franchisees may offer roll-out trays, cabinet organizing, accessories, closets, and more.

Ideal franchise candidates are creative self-starters who appreciate the proven system Kitchen Tune-Up has designed and evolved during the past 27-plus years. Franchisees within the Kitchen Tune-Up system also take advantage of the knowledge and experience shared between owners – the domino effect of the expertise is invaluable. Fostering entrepreneurship with minimal overhead, Kitchen Tune-Up franchisees primarily manage their small employee base, and consistently oversee effective sales and marketing programs.
