Hayley Thompson Advises Team on Time-Saving Search Engine Strategies
In any line of work, especially public relations, nothing is more valuable than time. At All Points PR, whether we are researching reporters, compiling media lists or developing a pitch, we put each and every minute to good use. The way we see it, with more time, we can achieve more on behalf of our franchise clients and team.
As a franchise PR agency, we regularly incorporate timesaving techniques into our day-to-day and look for new opportunities to invest our time wisely. For example, there are many techniques our team uses to save time when navigating search engines for business trends, franchise industry updates and media contacts on behalf of our clients. One way we accomplish this is through the use of search engine operators.
Last week’s seminar, held by All Points’ Creative & Digital Associate Hayley Thompson, provided plenty of tips on narrowing down desired search engine results. Hayley walked our team through the importance of using symbols, characters and key words to refine our searches, while also Googling some of our team members on the spot to demonstrate her point. In another example, Hayley showed us ways to discover a reporter’s email address through a search engine. Through the addition of key words and operators, Hayley was able to narrow down one search that originally had 4,600 search results to one that had just three relevant results (one of them containing the desired email address).
Hayley highlighted the importance of using search engines with a clear strategy in mind. With this, an effective search takes less time and achieves appropriate results.
Stay tuned for Jackson’s seminar in September!
