ChillRx Launches Strategic Franchise Growth Strategy: Aggressive Expansion Targets Mid-Atlantic

Proven Successes Signal Franchise Opportunities

WESTFIELD, N.J. – ChillRx, the advanced cryotherapy treatment center, announced today that it is launching a strategic U.S. franchise growth initiative. Positioned to grab a commanding hold on the retail cryotherapy treatment industry, the company’s planned progression into its new growth stage comes amid rampant consumer interest in the services ChillRx provides.

“Our mission is to ‘improve the health, fitness and beauty of our clients—all with a drug-free, non-invasive and extremely safe treatment’…and we believe that ChillRx’s affordable, efficient experience provided in a comforting, relaxed environment should be available to everyone,” said Julie Shanebrook, the founder and CEO of ChillRx who has been recognized for her innovative approach to creating a cryotherapy experience unlike any other. “Solidifying our franchise expansion is a milestone we can feel proud about reaching in just a few years since our launch in 2015. Now, our focus is on the future of our brand—continuing to excel in operating locations that distinguish themselves from anything else in their markets. And, we’re prepared to grow exponentially in the coming years.”

Initially, Shanebrook’s franchising focus for ChillRx is centered on the Mid-Atlantic region, growing out from the business’ northeastern New Jersey headquarters in Westfield, New Jersey. The franchise strategy calls for franchise opportunities with the concept to be awarded to qualified individuals and small teams in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington, D.C.

Expected to grow an annual rate of nearly 10 percent*, the cryotherapy industry has proven to attract a loyal and growing foundation of clientele coast to coast. To leverage the lively consumer demand for cryotherapy, ChillRx has captured its own unique space in the sector with a collection of proprietary treatments. The brand’s winning go-to-market strategy has created the momentum that is now propelling it to heights.

Under Shanebrook’s leadership, ChillRx has designed its treatment programs with the guidance of a board-certified physician. Key to this effort is the emergence of ChillRx’s local cryotherapy treatments, which account for 35 percent of revenue – a distinguishing facet of the brand’s franchise model. The vast majority of competitors solely offer whole-body cryotherapy. Plus, ChillRx’s liquid nitrogen delivery system exceeds industry standards, offering a more reliable and cost-effective method than systems typically used in the segment.

“The potential for ChillRx is limitless,” noted Shanebrook. “Our corporate location is consistently achieving operational excellence. Since we all believe so strongly in ChillRx and the brand standards, we have established remarkable loyalty with our customers.“

Shanebrook conceptualized ChillRx after a physician recommended she try it to relieve debilitating back pain resulting from a herniated disc. Inspired by the incredible outcome of the treatment, Shanebrook developed the ChillRx concept. Working on refining the concept to adapt it for franchising, she has continued to embark upon research into the science and practice of cryotherapy. This commitment to excellence is now reflected in the franchise model.

In addition to the operational and marketing knowhow, Shanebrook and her ChillRx team empower franchisees with a simplified menu of treatments. This collection of offerings continues to evolve as Shanebrook and Joshua Wein MD, FACS, medical advisor to ChillRx, expand services through a desire to expand services.

ChillRx treats its clients with programs that cover autoimmune disorders, weight loss, athletic recovery, injuries, performance improvement, cognitive/mental illnesses and anti-aging.

Sessions at ChillRx include three minutes in the cryosauna, a comforting chamber about eight feet tall by four feet wide. A trained technician who monitors the entire session drops the temperature in the chamber to pre-discussed levels of -235 to -270 degrees. Resembling more of a spa-feel than a stark office setting, ChillRx offers its treatments at an affordable price and in a time-efficient manner. ChillRx offers its patrons treatments quickly, but without losing the privacy and ambiance of a traditional spa.

“This is an awakening for the cryotherapy service industry – the dawn of a new era,” said Shanebrook, who earned a doctorate degree at Brown University. “Traditionally these services were unaffordable, or at high-end spas. We want to help people everywhere in America look and feel better about themselves.”

ChillRx supports its new franchisees with initial training programs. Ongoing support is provided both in the field and training classes. The brand’s proven business model has been cultivated to attract individuals and ownership teams seeking to invest in a robust growth industry. From first-time entrepreneurs to seasoned business owners and corporate professionals, ChillRx appeals to a wide investor audience. The franchise investment starts at $162,000, which includes the initial franchise fee.
