OAKHURST, Calif. Pizza Factory, adored for its great-tasting menu items and an environment unmatched among pizza competitors, recently announced the appointment of Jim Thornton to the role of chief operating officer.

Thornton will lead Pizza Factory’s corporate franchise team in spearheading growth in new markets, supporting existing franchisees and identifying new tactics for continuing education to stay competitive in the pizza industry.

“Jim’s hire is an exciting milestone for Pizza Factory,” said Mary Jane Riva, owner of Pizza Factory. “ His extensive experience in the franchise and pizza industries will be a great benefit to all of us. He has a proven track record of success and we look forward to leveraging his skills and experience to drive growth for Pizza Factory throughout the country.”

Prior to accepting his new position with Pizza Factory, Thornton held multiple high-level positions for companies including Papa John’s, 7-Eleven, Blockbuster and others, where he assisted with operations, negotiating agreements, strategy development and franchise communication processes. Thornton is looking forward to leveraging his multiple decades of experience in his new role with Pizza Factory.

“The opportunity to join Pizza Factory was one I couldn’t pass up,” said Thornton. “I am looking forward to working closely with the support team and franchise partners to advance our franchise growth goals in the months and years to come.”

With a focus on adding new locations in California, Idaho, Nevada, Washington, Arizona and Oregon, West Coast growth is the brand’s top priority. Pizza Factory has established a solid reputation already in the West and its growth strategy reflects this stronghold on the region, where it can extensively support locations through marketing and operations programs. The high-level of support Pizza Factory offers its franchisees has provided significant scalability for franchisees, many of which have opened multiple locations or have plans to do so.
