Young Chefs Academy Opens in Lenexa

Nationally Acclaimed Kids Cooking School Provides Colorful Culinary Adventures for Kansas City-area Children

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Young Chefs Academy is providing a warm, welcoming outlet in the Kansas City area for children to build their passions and interests in cooking. Arriving amid fervent community excitement, Young Chefs Academy will make its historic Kansas opening in November at 10082 Woodland St. in Lenexa.

“The time is finally here,” franchisee Julia Krumme said. “I never dreamed I would find a concept that matched so perfectly with my dreams and values. After seeing the positive effects of sharing my passion of cooking with my children, I am now officially able to provide that learning opportunity for all children in the Johnson County area.”

Young Chefs Academy will be offering the youth of Johnson County the opportunity to explore and sharpen their inner epicure. As the brand has captivated the creativity of children across U.S. communities for more than a decade, parents in the Kansas City area will now be able to obtain top-notch culinary instruction for their children.

“I couldn’t be happier to see our concept launching where I grew up,” said Julie Burleson, founder and CEO of Young Chefs Academy. “Being a Kansas City native, I know the area well and am confident Julia will lead the local children to culinary success in Lenexa.”

Children enrolled in Young Chefs Academy will have the opportunity to participate in educational classes in a state-of-the-art kitchen. The curriculum at Young Chefs Academy is updated regularly with fresh monthly themes and exciting new programs with a strong focus on building culinary skills. Events and classes are fueled by the philosophy, “mise en place,” which translates to “everything in its place.”

Tailored for young children discovering the kitchen in a KinderCooks® class, children in the Junior Chefs program and older students mastering concepts in the Senior Chefs group, there is a place and a lesson for every student to explore and grow through cooking. Each location also hosts birthdays and events for groups just looking for a taste of the Young Chefs experience.
