The 14th Street Hangout Turns One on March 22nd; Shop to Host Neighborhood Celebration with Discounted Beer, Falafel and More

WASHINGTON – Amsterdam Falafelshop on 14th Street will host a special in-store celebration on Sunday, March 22nd in honor of its one-year anniversary. To commemorate the occasion, guests will be offered discounted food and beverages, including $5 falafel, $2 beer and $1 fountain drinks.

Since its launch 12 months ago, the shop has become a staple in the community, offering Dutch-style fries or “frieten,” among other late-night delicacies. Situated at 1830 14th Street NW in Washington D.C., local entrepreneur Dane Cherry co-owns and operates the shop with a team of investors.

“There are no words to express our gratitude to the 14th Street community,” explains Cherry. “From the moment we opened our doors, we have been welcomed with a warm embrace. Now, it’s our turn to give back with a community-wide celebration. We can’t wait to have our friends, family and neighbors stop by for falafel, frieten, beer and a heck of a good time.”

A staple in the Washington D.C. area, there are two additional locations in Adams Morgan and L’Enfant Plaza. Amsterdam Falafelshop also has locations open and in development in Virginia, Maryland, Texas and Massachusetts. Looking ahead, Amsterdam Falafelshop is accepting applications from prospective franchisees looking to open additional locations in key U.S. markets throughout the Northeast, Eastern Seaboard, Midwest and Southeast.

“It’s clearly become an infectious brand,” added Cherry. “The constant flow of people that have come by to welcome us has been huge. We can’t wait to continue serving the mouth-watering falafel the community has come to know and love in the months and years to come.”

The renowned top-it-yourself falafel shop with a vibe, culture and flavor that commands a global fan base has become a Washington, D.C. sensation, consistently topping best-food lists, receiving widespread food-critic acclaim and winning over the hearts of discerning customers who have made it a top restaurant in D.C.
